There are two ways to create a Sweet app. The simplest method is through the publicly available templates where the data, web map, and app configuration are auto generated. Or users can create an app from scratch using their own web map within their ArcGIS Organisation.

Creating an app using a template

To create a Sweet app using a template:

1. Select the plus button to start creating your app.
2. The next page will show a list of templates preconfigured for you to use. Select one of them.
3. You’re now asked if you want to link up this app to already existing feature services. For now keep the option set to no.
4. Now give your app a name, at least one tag, and a description. You can also choose where you want the app to be saved in your content.
5. After selecting create, the app will open in the Sweet builder. It will also appear in your list of apps on the Sweet home page.

Creating an app using a web map

To create an app from a web map:

1. Select the plus button to start creating your app.
2. Now select the green button to open up the web map search dialog.
3. You can search for a web map within your own content or a web map shared in your organisation (or one that is publicly available). Select the map you want to use.
4. Now give your app a name, at least one tag, and a description. You can also choose where you want the app to be saved in your content.
5. After selecting create, the app will open in the Sweet builder. It will also appear in your list of apps on the Sweet home page.
